I thought it might be a good idea to have an ongoing thread where we can make comments about whatever song happens to be playing on the station right now.

NP: Michael Monroe - "Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye"

I just wanted to say that I was NOT expecting to hear a Leonard Cohen cover just now!

I know it might be sacreligious (no pun intended) to badmouth Pantera, but the song Sandblasted Skin, playing now, is just awful. Keir's idea is a damn good one.

I totally agree. Mind you, I think Power Metal was Pantera's best album.

I had completely forgotten about Lita's "Blueberry". That was one of my favorite songs back in '88. I got rid of that album a long time ago and really need to pick it up again.

"High Wire" from Badlands... Good pick Slick! I picked "Dreams in the Dark", so we'll probably hear that one in a couple hours or so. Was this a great album or what?

Used to cover "Walkin the Dog" in an old band of mine. I think they covered it also? And RATT has a version of this as well (which is actually the one we all learned to play the song from)

I was in a band that covered it to. By the time Ratt covered it, it was a three time cover. Aerosmith covered the original, which I think was by Rufas Thomas.

BTW Andie, the Aerosmith version from their first album came out in the 70s.

Rock Bridgade by Def Leppard is currently on. I remember hearing this for the first time in May of 1980.

I'm enjoying this Kane Roberts song "Women on the Edge of Love". I have his "Sinners and Saints" album but I don't know this one. I'll have to explore it more. Thanks Da314man

That's from Kane's first solo lp, recorded while he was still with Alice Cooper and 'roided up majorly. Although pretty good, I prefer Saints and Sinners.

Wow, I thought I was up with Kane's situation. Never knew he recorded an album while still with Alice. I remember reading a Hit Parader back before he recorded Saints and Sinners and it stuck in my mind that it was going to be his first solo album. Guess I got it wrong.

Anyway, I'll take your advice on Saints and Sinners being better as it's obvious you and I have very similar tastes in terms of our music likes and dislikes.

Thanks.

Metal Health: although not the only one, one of the best representations of 80's hard rock, wouldn't you say?

I remember when I first got White Lion - I kept rewinding When The Children Cry cause I was trying to write down the lyrics.

Grandpa came in and told me to turn of that "crap"
He listened to songs with no words - HEHEHEHEHEHEHE

Oh hell yeah - "Heavy Metal Love"! I actually "discovered" this song after the 80's were over but I love it. Great pick, Rockhead (can't believe I forgot about it)
